Just because someone asks a question you don't like doesn't mean they're being snarky. I saw lots of people trying to be helpful with their questions and comments.

Unless you have something significant to gain, it's probably not worth taking on this Herculean task. It's going to be difficult, even if he's technically a contractor.

From my understanding at least in VA, flirting, talking about what to have sex etc is not enough to have it be infidelity - there would have to be indisputable facts that they have in fact had sex (not just hook up doing other things). He'd have to be beyond stupid to have emailed words directly stating he had sex b/c they'd get picked up in the filters - and just proving flirting would be a waste of your time and money for no benefit other than potentially costing him his job / your child support

It matters because as you see, it will be difficult if not actually impossible to obtain the records you are seeking. You would need to weigh the potential gains against the difficulty of the task at hand. If the gain is fairly minimal (slight increase in alimony, the satisfaction of knowing you were right, etc.), you might not want to go to the trouble. If the gain is very significant (significant financial gain, significant custody differences, etc.), it might be worth it to try.

I'm no lawyer but I would think it would be much harder to get emails from a .gov than a corporate account.

Or at least we'd like to think so. -NP

FYI, I am a contractor; I can send FOUO stuff from my corporate account.

Right before I filed for divorce, my wife was trying to prove cheating and broke into my corporate account. That was problematic.

Now, where infidelity can matter is my wife's affair meant that she was not entitled to Alimony (in our state). I paid a PI to find it.

Agree with pp - what does an infidelity case do for you? Is there a prenup with a clause concerning consequences of infidelity?

If he's a contractor then probably since he would be using a contractor email address? Or do does he have a .mil or .gov address he's using? In that case it would be harder since that would have fouo (for official use only). If he's using an official govt address to do fishy things he's stupid anyway.

Not sure if this is the right forum. My husband works for a govt contractor, in a secure building. I have caught him before, corresponding with others via emails, text. He has gotten smart and I believe he uses his work email to communicate. Does anyone know if I can subpeona his work email address for my infidelity case, or is it private since its govt? (Although his employer is a private contractor) I had considered a PI, but they would not be able to access the building nor his computer. If I can subpeona those emails, I could easily prove my case. Anyone know?
