I don't disagree with the larger point, but a guy should also not be wearing a backpack (or comfortable shoes) for a job interview. . .

no backpack. I take a green tote (single bag).

Had to change in recent job interview, stash boots in closet (at potential employer) because it was pouring rain. It was through a recruiter so I had arranged that ahead of time.

I have a job interview coming up and I need to take the metro. I can't walk in heels for long distances so I was thinking of wearing sneakers and packing my heels in a backpack. Would it be unprofessional to show up to the interview with a backpack?
