Yes, I would. I have a high impact job that really fulfills me in a lot of ways. If I had to choose between one or the other, I can see myself choosing my career. Hopefully I would find someone that would make it work so that I wouldn't have to choose between the two.

I've seen this with a military family. The wife was miserable, but the husband wouldn't leave the military, so they divorced.

I have seen this with my own eyes. My mos other than a drill sergeant have the highest divorce rate in military. Just in my group alone 2 got divorced. I swore to myself not to get married while I'm active.

But, I wouldn't choose a job over my spouse.

nope. I don't know if men would feel any different. I know my DH wouldn't pick his career over love. To him, it's just a job.

I did when I was younger. At that point it was still education and a few very early career decisions. To me it was more about proving to myself that I could take care of myself independently of anyone else before I settled down. I don't regret it, but I do think there's some irony in life that women, especially, seem to be pushed to prove their independence only to spend the next several decades trying to get less selfish and learn to balance the important people in your life with career. Just can't win...

Nope. A job is just a job.

My wife is my best friend and partner in life.

This was a topic on the radio today. Would you choose your career over love, why or why not?
