Depends, do you want to be home for dinner or not?

For me, it's an obvious choice and I only have one child.

Take the better hour job and no pay. Perhaps it can turn in to the right opportunity

Depends what you want. I have two young kids, and my job involves a lot of travel. I love my job.

I think opportunity only knocks once and when it does, you take it. Your kids will adjust and frankly business trips/time away from the kids is good for my own sanity. Unless you're the kind of mom who will be miserable and feel guilty for traveling -- then don't take it.

I think it has to be about flexibility and convenience. The idea of travel with 3 kids sounds miserable. I would take the position with best flexibility and pay and figure out the opportunity down the road but others may not agree

38years old with 3 kids under 6 and am ready for a change in jobs. One job has a ton of career opportunity and will take a lot of work to understand the role and learn expertise and not much financial upside at all but opportunity to relocate and be closer to family but travel required in the job and a more expensive location. Or when you have young kids, is it just smarter to take a job because it fits your current situation-no travel, good hours and more pay?
