My children are in middle school now, but I'll probably continue to go to the SWS auction when I can because I have such great memories of my kids' years there.

We get it. The whole world revolves around you and your kid and no one else and nothing else matters. And clearly supporting another school, or a teacher, to friend or neighborhood school isn't on your list of "to do's".

My kids are at a charter, but I've gone to the neighborhood DCPS fundraiser. We have lots of friends whose kids go there so it's a neighborhood event.

I'm a teacher. I have friends who attend galas and auctions for multiple schools because they know students or staff and want to support those communities.

I agree. I wouldn't go to another school's gala. I may purchase via online auction especially for my neighborhood school (we are at charter).
