This isn't accurate about HW for 6th grade. It's only listed as 3-5 grades because it's a new center. By next year the first center class will be in 6th grade.

My child went through Crossfield and was in LLIV. We had a mixed experience there. He had some wonderful teachers (one was truly his best elementary year, this teacher really "got" him. The issue we had with LLIV was he was with the exact same class for 4 years. It ended up ok, but when there are friend issues, there is no chance the children can be split up. I am not sure if they have multiple classes per grade now, but when we were there, there was only one per grade. The other issue we had was with class sizes. His was 29-30+ the whole time. Even when they gained a teacher his 5th grade year, and all the other classes reduced to the mid 20's, there was no relief for the AAP class. Even though I imagine some were principal placed, they were not going to pull them out after being in the AAP class for 3rd and 4th. Academically, he was well prepared for Middle school, and has done well. He had wished to have the opportunity to try out for All-County chorus, but the school did not participate (their chorus has more of an elementary musical as opposed to choral focus), so that was a bummer for my DS who loves to sing.

Anyone who had to choose one of these two schools for AAP ?

PBL is not for the AAP classes, although of course they do periodic PBL projects.
