You won the lottery, OP. Some moron drove the car off the lot and saved you $5k. Enjoy your new car!

when I was buying my car, the salesman said there is a couple who trades in cars every 2-4 months. I can't imagine doing that, but I guess those people are out there.

I bought a 2y old car with less than 6k miles on it. It was a lease - but I can't imagine only driving 3k miles a year!

We bought an enclave like that in another state for a nice discount.

The dealer was the sponsor for a big PGA tournament, and loaned a bunch of loaded Enclaves to the players to use when in town. The carsall had less than 1000 miles on them and the dealer could no longer sell them as a new car.

Nice deal for us!

Ask the dealer why. It might be a similar reason.

Is it coming off of a lease? Likely leased by someone and then they found out they had to move out of the country/deploy for a job and it wasn't worth it to leave it parked and pay for it. Or repoed from someone who wasn't making payments. Those would be the 2 most common scenarios I would think.

If it was being used for a business -- I agree that a car rental company or a sedan car service bought it and then realized they didn't need it.

My parents returned a car when I was young. My dad has a habit of trading in the family cars without telling my mom he is doing it and he came home one day with this enormous boat of a car and my barely 5' tall mother could not drive it. Her feet didn't reach the pedals right and she could barely see over the steering wheel. So they kept it all of a month and then turned it back in. Took a bath on the cost and it was resold shortly thereafter to a local priest. (We saw him driving it around town.) It maybe had 500 miles on it when they traded it back in.

Could be a lemon.

We bought a "used" car from a dealership several years ago that only had a few miles on it. We were told that the title had been released to a rental car company but that they ended up not needing it, so the car by law had to be sold as pre-owned.

Who knows- maybe the car was slightly used under similar conditions, someone left the country or only needed a car for occasional use.

A friend of mine brought her Yukon back after 4 months claiming it was a rough ride and bought an Escalade.

Run its VIN through carfax. See who it was registered to. Could have been a demo or an executive courtesy car.

PP again - sorry! I didn't see it was a car dealer who was selling the car.

Could of been a car he drove from lot to lot or a car they used to run people home after a repair drop off. I got a car that had around 1700 miles on it for this reason.

Perhaps he's moving abroad? You can always ask to have it checked out at a local car dealer's.

He says it's a trade in, but who trades in a car after only 600 miles? Can anyone explain?
