Start looking.

Your current employer lied to you.

Did you give a commitment of any kind when you started? Do your bosses know you are not happy?

Is the new position in a new agency or just office. Why did you leave old job and why would you leave is one. That will be a question if you get interviews and the answer will matter a lot.

Just over a year. I could start applying at least, though I've been in the role a short time for someone of my profession, seniority.

I certainly wouldn't want to make a move again for a same or worse position.

Or, I stay and try to improve things here (maybe while putting some effort into a job search, in between my home and work responsibilities). Its tough either way.

I'm having some regrets about moving on from my previous role to supposedly a more promising position.

There are organizational problems and high turnover, low morale where I am now. I'm concerned about staying and risks to my professional reputation, or leaving too soon and looking like a job hopper. How do I decide? I'm in a relatively specialized Federal role, and it is not clear how long it could take to land a new position that is clearly better than this one, through my network and or USAJobs. Also not sure how I would explain why I am lookong again so soon.
