Unfortunately for us, humans have evolved to the point we don't want them having to fend for themselves in the wild so we're stuck tolerating this behavior that is basically designed to be intolerable.
A friend once told me that if they were a pride of lions, her DH would have long since run off their teen DS, LOL.
