20:20 poster. The state mandated test are in English, but they are given Spanish reading level testing. Because it is a dual language program the child has to be Able to keep up with the Spanish as well. There are plenty of students that go to aftercare. Parents love Joes movement emporium and Rollingcrest. There is also a bus that comes from the YMCA. The new students coming in are very diverse. The school is very small, so your child will be on the kindergarten-1st grade hall. The older kids are not allowed on that hall for any reason except for Library and they are escorted by teachers. I love the school, they are very anti- bully and the older kids that are there are very considerate towards the younger class. They have cameras everywhere. Also my kids group is going to second grade which will be the group on the other hall. They have to have 4 class rooms to accommodate our group. So, the few boundary kids that are left will be 3rd, 4th and 5 th graders. We have not heard about the 6 th graders yet and where they will be.

Are the children mainly tested in English? I'm mainly talking about county mandated tests. Or are they tested in Spanish?

I have a child in French Immersion- all standardized tests (PARCC, MSA Science, etc.) are in English. Regular testing (chapter tests, quizzes, etc) are in the target language.

Do you know anything about the after care programs?

Rollingcrest is awesome, they have an all year round indoor Waterpark with waterslides, waterfalls, fountains, etc. Don't know anything about the school though. I think if you are a member through their aftercare program though, you get to use the pool/Waterpark facilities for no extra charge all year.

I don't have any personal experience with the school but a friend of mine took the tour and was impressed. She decided to send her child there.

Yea I've heard some good reviews about the community center but not a lot about the school it's self.

Does anyone have feedback on the school itself? How have the changes to a lottery school affected the school itself? It currently has really low test scores.

OP here. That's awesome that there is after care. I'll have to look into Rollingcrest Community center.

We have a friend who goes there, and seems to like it (although does mention her son has quite a bit of homework). The after care is through Rollingcrest community center. I believe they bus the kids there. Rollingcrest also does a lot of camps on the days when school is closed as well as summer camp, and it's pretty cheap.

My daughter got into Cesar Chavez Elementary School through the lottery. As anyone heard any reviews about this school. Also they do not have before or after care. Are there any good after care centers in the area?
