I don't understand why people view an 8 year old dog as old. My 8 year old dog is the best.

Yes. It makes me very sad. I also feel so bad when someone posts that their pet is ill or died of old age or illness and the op/owner is sad about it. It makes me thankful that my dog is young and healthy.

Yes. The re-homing posts actually depress me the most, especially when it's an older dog or cat (like over 8 years old).
On the other hand, my dog is a dog who someone "re-homed" when he got older. He's the best. I can't imagine what kind of fool would want to get rid of him.

I come here once in a while as I am a pet owner. Each time I come, I click on 1-2 posts and get completely depressed. Putting cats to sleep instead of re-homing or putting a young dog to sleep when there are other choices. I understand each pet owner wants to do what is good for themselves but I still find it depressing. Anyone feel the same?
