They tell us to be involved with our kids' education, but never give any planning time. As for working parents - forget us! All events are now during the daytime. If I didn't work part- time as a physician in a field that is family friendly, i would never get to attend any of DD's school events.

Wish I could meet with Garza and share this with her...

Both the scores and the admission letters are or were before the deadline/orientation. If more events were in the evening, stay at home parents would complain.

Not OP, but a few schools dropped the ball during this year's tight timeline. Some parents received their scores 1 or 2 days prior to the deadline. The timeline was too tight this year. I remember just a few years back, I had plenty of time to get recommendation letters and work samples. I was very rushed this time.

Doesn't matter - it is like anything else. If you need to get your kid to a dental appointment or a doctor's appointment, go to a parent/teacher meeting, some recitals, etc. are during typical work hours. Find a way to make it work, or don't, but don't complain about it.

In this area I would think working parents are a majority...

You are in luck! Dr. Garza will be at Chantilly HS on April 13 at 6:30 p.m. for her listening tour.

They must have not updated the date to account for the revised schedule of notifying acceptance/rejection.

My guess is that's a wrong date. The letters aren't out.

Colin Powell, it's in the calendar.

Everyone receives their letters around the same time. I thought that orientations weren't supposed to start until the week of April 18th.

Which school, OP?

Do kids who are not accepted into the program get a letter after the kids that are accepted? Since the orientation is tomorrow...
