PP, one if my children has benefitted from the involvement of the learning specialist. As every situation is different, it's really best to speak to the school directly. I'm sure if you call Nick or Kim in admissions they'll be happy to speak to you about your specific needs, and then put you in touch with Dahlia or whomever is the right contact person.

Call and ask for the current enrollment in each of the middle school grades. It is very small. That can be a wonderful thing for some students, and it can be a challenge for others.

Last year: Sidwell, STA, GDS (several), Potomac (several), Maret, St. Anselm's, many to Stone Ridge, Episcopal (several), Holton, Gonzaga, Walls, one to Barrie, a few to Bullis. (These are enrollments, not admits). The school is very active and helpful during the process.

PP, my son is graduating this year - it's been a fantastic experience. I think the numbers change a bit depending on which year you'd be entering and at what grade level. What grade are you looking at and when?

The middle school director is excellent. Totally on top of everything and really likes this age group. She alone was enough for me to send DD (just for middle school).

Totally disagree. DS had a great experience there. Warm friendly community of kids and parents. Teachers dedicated to knowing the kids and helping each reach his/her best. Built solid, traditional academic skills; had great fun on all of the study trips, field trips, community service projects, in drama, band and choral performances, etc. Now in a Big 3 for high school.
