Well actually there is a point in saying you're very interested. We moved to an area where we wanted our son to attend K and of all 5 classes there was one spot. The admissions secretary said there was one family before us and that they were being indecisive and stalling. So she gave them a deadline and when they still couldn't decide, our kid got the spot.

Call the school and ask and let them know you are interested.

2nd grade is hard because by then most people have made their choice to stay with the school so not many openings. Maybe a few but not sure they will go all the way to 22.

That is just general info, not school specific.

We just moved to DC and found out we're wait listed for EW Stokes Bilingual for 2nd grade (Spanish) at #22. I don't know what this number means in terms of our chances of getting in - especially for 2nd grade. Any experts out there who could shed some light on this for us? I don't want to get my hopes up (but, yeah, they're up).
