It is very unlikely that you will get in. There are probably fewer than 5 seats for 2nd grade and if a kid who gets in for a different grade has a 2nd grade sibling, they will be ranked higher than your kid.
You should start thinking about your other options--at second grade, you have a right to whatever school you live in-boundary for. It would be good to enroll your kid there as soon as possible; they have to take you whenever you enroll, but doing it soon will help them figure out how many out-of-boundary kids they should accept.
Well actually there is a point in saying you're very interested. We moved to an area where we wanted our son to attend K and of all 5 classes there was one spot. The admissions secretary said there was one family before us and that they were being indecisive and stalling. So she gave them a deadline and when they still couldn't decide, our kid got the spot.
