It's not just the hypocrites I miss seeing at church, I also miss seeing the judgmental assholes.

So true, that's why every church should be busting at the seams.

Religious hypocrisy is not a new thing. It doesn't mean church is bad, it just means this is a really funny story if you aren't the jilted man.

This. I feel very sorry for you're brother (and the other married man's wife too). Did your brother ever go to church with her? From your post, it sounds like it was very important to her. (I am not implying, however, that if he didn't go this was warranted.)

I know many church going people who live their life like this.

I'm betting this is what's going through both their minds as well. God wanted us two special Christians to meet so he put us in the same study group. :/

I, like the pp above, also think she'll come running back. Not sure how my brother will handle it. They don't have kids and have only been married a little over 2 years; both are about 30.

Don't blame the church. All that building did was provide a place for your hot pantied SIL to fulfill her fantasies.

My brother had an affair with another teacher at the school where they taught. It wasn't the school's fault. He and his cookie were holy rollers too. LOL.

It won't last and she will crawl back to him, asking for forgiveness. Next.

My brother has always been a little cynical of church. His wife is a holy roller, posting on Facebook about God's blessings and forgiveness. She had been "seeing" a married man, who goes to church with her, for the past 3 months, and asked my brother for a divorce today.

Not sure I'll ever see my brother inside a church now.
