At really young ages it is more about comfort and size. I would suggest going to a soccer specific store so you can try on a few. Run a bit in the store to make sure they stay in place. My kids like the slip ins as well but they tend to move on bigger kids. Thus you see the tape being used to keep them in place

shin socks. I think Nike makes them. Maybe under armour too.

We bought the kind you shove in your socks but truthfully my dd refusescyo wear them but they aren't kicking much anyway!

We've tried several different shingaurds before finding ones dd likes. Not sure of the brand, but I got them at target. They are socks that the gaurd slips into an interior pocket of. She loves them

DS is starting soccer in a few weeks and we need shin guards. I've never played soccer and have no clue what would be comfortable for a preschooler. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
