OP stop the phone calls and regulate him to text only. Do the agreed upon child exchanges and if there's a change in schedule you both can text. As for school he can find out stuff on his own, same with doctor etc. This is how others do it and it works well with getting the ex out of your life. You really need to do this and move forward. No talking about your personal lives, and don't give him the opportunity to talk about his. I'm afraid you have empowered this guy, only YOU can take control.

My dumb dh suggested a song for our wedding that he had apparently discussed using in a wedding with his previous long-term girlfriend (long story, but they never got married but had discussed a wedding). I was horrified and would never have used it knowing the background.
