Practice driving is usually on weekends when many don't take meds. Believe me, I could tell within 15 seconds whether my DS had taken his Adderall or not. No way we were getting out of the driveway until he took his medication.

My DD got a Ritalin booster for evenings when she was going to be driving. She was often driving back from sports practice/school quite late so it was useful.
DD is pretty self aware about the impact of ADHD and good about limiting other distractions in the car.

Don't worry about it. It is fine to drive either way. One thing though is that in long drives it can be very helpful to avoid zoning out on the highway.

My DH has ADHD and has been taking adderall for 20+ years. He drives daily and is just fine, even when he doesnt take his meds.

I think they don't want someone driving the first few times they take the meds just in case the person has a strange side effect that could impair their driving. I would be much more worried about someone taking a xanex and driving. Definitely talk to your doctor, but I have not known of cases of people driving poorly on Adderall.

So I just noticed that the medicine label it says something about driving. She needs her medication when she drives. If she doesn't take, she won't pay full attention to the road, and it worries me. I know when she alone she going to listen to music so should I have the radio on when she driving so she gets use to it? She has a permit, and when we go out and practice if is not on a school day, I tell to take her pills. We never had an issue with her drug and driving did anyone ever have an issue if so what was it?
