I'd guess it's usually about a 1 week turnaround for most testers. I would schedule the test now so you have the appointment on the calendar. You can always cancel it if you don't need to appeal.

"Most recognized?" As long as the tester is licensed in VA, you can have it done anywhere. A test will be equally valid from Mason as it will be from another qualified source.
