I knew before my sister announced it on Facebook. I did not comment because I already knew, but I did like the post.

How do you fit into this dynamic? Sister? Friend? Family member?

I'm still trying to get past an "engagement officially announced on Facebook." Lol

It was a surprise posting. Nobody else knew about it before it was posted on Facebook. Including her sister.
Her sister comments about everything else posted on the page (pets, vacations, eating out, new car) but is dodging the engagement post.
This may end up being a very uncomfortable wedding to attend. I can feel the tension already. This is just online. I can only imagine what it will be like in person.

You are over thinking this. The sister is obviously in a hard place regarding weddings right now. Let her be.

Exactly. Be there to support both bride and her sister. Maybe I am presuming too much, but don't create drama. You shouldn't be overthinking other people's lives. Just be good and kind to them during this period. One sister getting married while another is going through a divorce is tough, so they need a family member to celebrate the good, not comment on "feeling the tension."

Stop looking for trouble. You're inventing an issue where one may not exist.

It has now been almost a month since the engagement announcement on Facebook.
Still nothing from her sister.
Her sister is a frequent commenter on the page. She is no stranger to the page by any means.
An engagement is a life changing event.

Am I reading too much into this?

Maybe she did it privately. Why the need to read anything into it? Not your business.

That is what I was going to say, some people do the same thing with birthdays (or do e-cards).

Wow. You sound like the kind of person who creates drama. Sister is probably dealing with crisp. Let her work through her feelings. Give her time. You've already written her off. And let them work through this. Please don't be buzzing in the bride'scear pointing out these stupid things and encouraging drama.

I don't interact much with my husband and siblings in Facebook because it feels artificial or unnatural or weird to go that with someone so close.

I don't think you should make any assumptions or create an issue out of this. Even if there's strain you're questioning things and pointing out issues will only make it worse.

Sister was probably told in person/on phone and offered congrats then. Yes, you're reading too much into it. And honestly, it's a bit weird that you're tracking it.
