We pay $220 a month for 5 phones on sprint with unlimited data, and like 1500 shared minute (but doesn't count cell to cell calls or Wi-Fi calling, whoich we use at home). also an old plan.

When I was shopping around, Virgin Mobile was significantly cheaper than Verizon. With Virgin Mobile, I bought the phone from them and then my monthly fee is only $45.

I've never had speed or coverage issues with Sprint (within the DC area).

As others mentioned I believe that both Sprint and T Mobile does, as well as some networks that run off of Sprint's networks like Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile.

But for most of them, they only offer limited amount of 4g (high speed) data and after that limit the speed gets throttled to 2g or 3g for the rest of the month.

When I look into Verizon once in a while it looks like they have a limit on data. So if you only pay for 2 GB of data per month that's all you get, I think, unless they charge you overages. So isn't like Sprint and T Mobile where they just drop the speeds.

An issue with Boost, which was one of the reasons why I left, is that they didn't have roaming. Which wasn't that big of an issue if you stay mostly in the area but was kind of a pain if we were traveling outside of the area and other people would have reception and I didn't. I think Virgin Mobile might be similar, but you'd probably have to verify.

I don't think Boost Mobile charged that much taxes but Sprint seems to add on a bunch of taxes. Not sure about the other carriers.

Again, just based off of the last time I looked, I think Sprint had the cheapest plans for what you get. Some people complain about their data network, in terms of coverage and speeds.

Also my information about Boost Mobile is probably a couple of years old.

I second Virgin Mobile. I've had it for years and it works great. $30 per month.

Virgin Mobile - they use the Sprint towers. They slow your internet after a certain amount of data per month.

I think TMobile limits internet for browsing but they don't limit video or audio streaming, so Netflix and Spotify to your heart's content.

Seconded on Sprint.....I thought T-Mobile may do something similar but I am not certain.
