Also for the record, these deletions were logged. The first post that I deleted from that thread -- at 6:32 -- questioned your mental ability and suggested that you had performed an significant amount of oral sex to get your position. The second deletion referred to that post and the third that I deleted said that you were missing a brain. I'm not seeing a "sensible post" in the bunch. The next one suggested that you would be sued for child abuse and then there were a series of deletions of posts that referred to or quoted that one. The OP of the first post mentioning child abuse was the troll and, even though it wasn't obscene, I was removing all of the troll's posts. I then continued through the thread removing the rest of the troll's posts which included many that were obscene.

What doesn't make sense is that you started this thread at 6:06. At that time, I hadn't deleted any posts (and I am the only moderator today). So, it is not possible that a "sensible" post, or a "non-sensitive" post for that matter, could have been deleted from your thread before you started this thread. At first I thought that you considered the child abuse posts "sensible", but I didn't remove those until well after you had started this thread. So, I am a bit baffled.

In the past, posters have misunderstood or outright lied about my actions as a moderator and started a entire genre of urban legends that are generally divorced from fact. Some of these continue to come back to haunt me even years later. As a result, I take threads such as this with the allegations that you made quite seriously and try to correct the record.

OP of that thread. I stand corrected. I don't think I had refreshed the page, so the mistake is all mine. Again, my apologies, and I admire your diligence in maintaining this place. I was a bit out of sorts when I saw the direction it was going, and was really looking for guidance. I won't question your actions or judgement again so willy nilly. Please know I am sorry. Keep on keepin on

A very active troll showed up here at about 4 pm and posted 56 messages -- most of them profane troll posts. The last of the posts was posted at about 6 pm. As far as I can tell, the first report of any of those posts was at 5:15 pm. However, I was doing other things and didn't notice that report -- and many subsequent reports that followed it -- until about 6:30. I was just starting to remove posts when you started this thread.

Just to be clear, I don't accept your precept that common sense posts are being deleted (unless they quote inappropriate posts, which should be self-explanatory). Second, I don't agree that vulgar, mean-spirited posts are allowed to stand. Your presumption that I was going to leave those posts -- along with your claim that I remove common sense posts -- suggests that you don't have a clear understanding of how this site is moderated.

Easy Jeff. I just noticed that one post disappeared. I didn't understand how that happened, as the others were still there. I understand if you are prickly with all the work you had to do to monitor this guy, but I didn't mean any huge insult to either you or your site. Apologies.
