We only have one tv hooked up to it, no DVR. We just use hulu and netflix.

Wish I did it sooner. You cannot keep your phone number if you do this which is why you pull the phone off.

What about your email adresses? Do you just not use Verizon's?

We have our own domain and do not use theirs. My husband may but I don't know what he does. You would probably lose them too.

You don't have to rent equipment. We don't. We own our Tivo, router, etc. Much cheaper this way.

There's a really popular one out there called Gmail.

Just did this. Got a new number but I don't care. No one calls me on the land line anyway.

^^ Wow, great idea. I went to just before the two-year mark, then cancelled. Roku is fine for us, we really don't miss cable.

For us it will go up $50. We are going to cancel at the 2 year mark...try just Netflix and Prime for a while. If we want cable again we'll start a new contract with the deals. I know some people just swap from fios to Comcast every 2 years for this reason

We have verizon fios for internet and tv. The 2 year contract is up in May. They are going to raise it 50%, from $69 to $106 per month. We are looking to switch to something else.

It will go up a lot. Ours went from $129 to $179 after the first year, then $210 after that. And each year they take away channels from our line up.

Don't do it. Verizon will suck you dry. If you do decide to go forward, don't sign a contract.

Verizon is pressuring us to upgrade to fios and it may be time to make a change. We currently don't have cable and are debating adding tv. We see the packages (ex 69/ month for 2 years for phone internet and tv) but what does the rate jump to after that 2 yr period? We are worried about it going up a ton. Thanks for any info
