Agree that Tea is slim fitting. Also check out lands end's slim fit.

I think the phrase stores use is "adjustable waistband."

Gap girls leggings are TINY. If you buy in neutral colors that may work.

Tea also runs small.

i would go with girl leggings. Girls clothes are cut slimmer and smaller than boys clothes of the same size. I see this with my younger daughter, age 2, wearing SIZE 4 pants whereas still wearing size 2-3 boys pants she inherited from her older brother.

H&M and Primary are great for this. They have adjustable waistbands

Gymboree works on my skinny boy; because their pants ate longer and his height is in his torso, I'm able to buy pants a size smaller then other brands. Gap are terrible on him. They also have lots of khakis, cargos, etc. that look nice but have a wide stretchy waistband.

Can you put him in neutral colored girl's leggings?

Leggings? Girls leggings? I mean our leggings are elastic, no buttons, etc. They come in all colors.

Go to H+M and browse. That's where I found all my "magic" pants that were both elastic waist AND adjustable. My son wore the same style shorts from age 2 until last year!

The thing is that there inventory changes so much that sometimes you go and see nothing, but you go again in a couple weeks and there they are.

I've not had the same luck with pants, but I did find a pair of skinny jeans with an elastic-jersy waist that were awesome.

Try these slim sweatpants from hanna when they come back in stock.

My DD is 3/37 inches/30 pounds. She wears hanna leggings with shirts and dresses. She can fit in a size 90, but we get her 100s for growing room. They bunch a little because they are too big and there is a little bit of room around waist/butt, but they don't fall down. Could the girl leggings work in a gender neutral color?

Gymboree does not work for skinny kids. Their stuff is super wide. Try Carters.

Search for "jeggings" in the toddler size.

I have looked at the past threads on skinny-toddler pants but am still fruitlessly searching online. My size 3T toddler is very skinny. He also has special needs and doesn't have the fine motor skills to do buttons, snaps, zips, drawstrings, etc. Now that he is potty trained all his pants fall down because he doesn't have the bulk of a diaper holding them up. I have bought him various "pull-on" pants, but they all fall down. I don't want to put him in just sweatpants but that seems like the only kind of pants that have enough elastic in the waist to actually stay on.

I see a lot of threads suggesting pants with adjustable internal waist bands from Gap, Target, etc., but I can't figure out how to search for those on those websites, or else I find them only in bigger-kid sizes with pants that also have zippers, buttons, etc.

If anyone could provide a link to pants that might work I would love you forever!
