But you can eat food in line. They might take it from you when you reach the security gate, but that's unlikely. I ate breakfast in line at the White House when the pope was here. They provided water bottles and gross health freak granola bars once you got inside.

Pack snacks for your kids to be eaten during the waiting. Have the DR note regarding the food allergy with you at all times. If it's can't be done, skip the event, or find foods nearby after event. Plan for your kids, don't expect others to do it for you or bent over to accommodate you. You have a choice.

No food means no food. Those are two simple words.

I definitely took snacks. Just do what everyone else does and put 4 fruit strips and 2 granola bars in the bottom of your make up bag. Honestly, no one will see them or care.

OP here. I ask because my child does have multiple food allergies. And maybe he can go the 2 hours inside the grounds without a snack, but then we still have to get home via metro and there are few things around the WH (I work a few blocks away and know the area) that he can eat. Maybe this makes me entitled, but I need to plan accordingly if they are going to confiscate all of his snacks.

This is just one reason why the egg roll is a big PITA.

Why do people think their kids need to eat constantly? Give them meals and they will be fine.

Maybe the kids can pick a veggie of their choice from the White House garden? I'm sure that would go over well!

what do they really mean? Do they really expect preschoolers (and other kids) to go several hours without a snack? This seems like cause for trouble, particularly given the long lines for things. Could someone please enlighten me?
