Why not a PA? Our hospital employs PAs who essentially practice like NPs.

What's your background?

I like older retreads going in healthcare, although you didn't say if this is a career switch or if you are just starting out. I think added life experience is a plus.

120K is really high for an NP.
Most make $80-90K (in the DC area).

Are you already an RN? If not, you have about 6 years of school to go through. Great job though.

DW is one. Working 40 hours - making 120k right now. Likes her job more than I like mine. Downside is her pay is maxed out. So unless she finds another job, her pay won't go up any more.
