No way are they more inclusive. They have some better policies, but I see a lot of exclusion. Muslims stuck in crummy neighborhoods, not getting great educations and not able to get good jobs. Of course it's not the case with everyone, but I see it in France for sure, Belgium as well.

My french relatives are pretty racist, even though there are North African muslims in the family! :o

Muslims in Europe have not been assimilated. The "cultural inclusiveness" that you referenced does not exist for Muslims in France for example. First of f all, they are closer to the Middle East and are a better target of opportunity.

Secondly, your assumptions are wrong.


They have more immigrants, but they are less successful at integrating them. In the U.S., we expect that the children of Muslim immigrants will be Americans AND Muslim with no contradiction. I had an argument with a German guy about how immigrants to Germany could never really be German and neither could their children. And Germany is probably better at integrating them than other countries.

A lot of Muslim immigrants to Europe are poor. A lot of Muslim immigrants to the U.S. are professionals and business owners. Professionals don't have time for that.

Because Europeans are actually sort of racist in practice, while liberal in principle. Immigrants lived in isolated enclaves with little employment or integration with the larger community. People could be born in France or Belgium and never feel fully French or Belgian.

And really, OP, do you think that you are really that much safer than they are, here in our considerably less liberal country? Not only do we have terrorist incidents like San Bernardino and the Boston Marathon bombing, we also have mass shootings right and left, more poverty, and extremely expensive healthcare and post secondary education to boot. I don't think we are winners in comparison.

Europe is not at all more inclusive with regards to cultural inclusiveness. Also, many European countries were colonial powers over the backgrounds of a lot of immigrants. The historical colonizing relationship cannot be downplayed.

Why is this the case? Isn't Europe the Utopian example of what all the liberals want in this country (Open borders, cultural inclusively, no guns, liberal do whatever you want values) ?

If so how come they continue to get attacked and Brussels is the most open border country in Europe.
