From their website: "Approximately 72 percent of all undergraduates receive some form of aid from federal, state, institutional, and private sources. Of that aid, 64 percent is a Loyola-funded scholarship or grant. Loyola also offers several merit-based scholarships, awarded to students based on their academic achievements."
That's not "hardly anyone." 28% paying full freight, and a good chunk of the 64% getting a token grant probably no more than 5-10K out of the total 63K tuition.
It's still an overpriced Catholic college catering heavily to upper middle class students from the tri-state area. There's nothing wrong with that but it does say much about the feel and environment at Loyola.

The best description of Loyola I heard came from a Loyola parent (whose other children attended Georgetown and Boston College): it's an uncomplicated school for an uncomplicated student.
Growing up within blocks of Loyola in Baltimore the school never had much of a reputation. It was a Catholic college, that's all there was to it. If your child is looking at Loyola odds are it's no better nor worse than a bunch of schools in the same category so it comes down to fit, and Loyola students do seem happy.

Yup, but the pay at least 30k, they all want to collect at least a 120k for your kids education.

I went to Loyola and loved it. Most of the students at the time seemed to be Catholic (practicing or non-practicing) who came from middle to upper middle class families. Strong academics and a lot of clubs, etc. There was a lot of drinking but it didn't seem much different from the colleges my friends went to. The campus has grown a lot too since I was there. I think it is voted best dorms in one of those polls by US News.
