OP, with the countries you mentioned are you taking the train? The Eurostar is now running its regular route through Brussels. I believe you can exchange your ticket for a refund if you prefer not to travel.

I traveled from Brussels to Paris on the Eurostar the week after the Paris attacks, when Brussels was basically on lock down. There were armed security/police everywhere, and our train was stopped twice for every single person to have their papers examined. Even on a regular day Gare du Nord has police with huge guns walking around looking at everyone. I think as for transportation you will be ok. It is the same as here in DC, do you want to live in fear and be scared to go anywhere, or do you want to live your life?

I would go to the UK and France. I don't know enough about the Netherlands. I wouldn't go to Belgium/Brussels only because I don't get the feeling that law enforcement is on top of this situation and radicalism in Belgium in general, even before this attack. Just my two cents.

I wouldn't even think of not going if I had had something planned. I'd never travel internationally on such short notice though.

We're supposed to be in Paris next week. As of right now we're going BUT we've selected St. Thomas as a backup if anything else goes down between now and Monday.

Chances are, we'll just stay away from the city and do the country side if we still go.

Given that these countries are part of the coalition with the US in bombing Syria and given the attacks in Paris and now Belgium, would you go to one of these countries on vacation next week? Or even in the upcoming months?
