oh..btw last night DD receive an email from a D3 coach in WVA with a small student body, a school she's never contacted before. They offered her a total of Offer Total $27000.00. , and this is for a non revenue sport.


ALL sports at D3 schools are non revenue.

Agree. DC committed to a top 3 academic SLAC/D3 school March of junior year. Had to go through pre-reads, but nothing guaranteed until ED letter came. There is intense recruiting done by D3 schools, but no athletic or academic money. High school students are trading their athletic ability for admittance to schools that they may or may not get into on their own.


This is completely and patently false.

The top academic D3 schools do not give merit money to athletes or anyone else. There are D3 schools that give merit money to all students, but not the top ones.

Depends on the school and the strength of the candidate. My DC was screened by admissions based on scores and GPA before making a visit. To get any bump from a selective school you have to apply ED. They will give you a good indication but until you have the admit letter in hand there's no commitment. Others may have different experiences.
