Last year the lottery was on March 20 and I think the results were online on April 4. I got a letter in the mail on April 11. This year the lottery was on March 21 so maybe the results will be online April 5.

I can't help wonder why it takes so long to update the website after the lottery. If this is a true lottery, the results can be released and families can wait for the letter to find out if they are in or on a wait list. But if I am going to be number 363 on the wait list again this year, I can get this info online and just move on. Just don't understand why it takes 10 days to release the results.

Call the office listed here http://www1.pgcps.org/lottery/index.aspx?id=127716 and ask them to update your mailing address.

When you filled out the form online you should have received an email from "Application Confirmation <Lottery_Apps@pgcps.org>" with the subject line "Specialty programs student lottery application confirmation" That email includes your child's application ID number. Once the lottery results are online, use that number to find your child on the lists.

Shoot! I never updated my new address. I will do it now, but will there be another way to confirm?

"The lottery will be held on March 21, 2016. Announcement of student selection will not be made at that time. Students selected through the lottery will be notified by mail."

I applied to the lottery last week and somewhere on the application ir website it said results will be out on 3/21.

Yes, I managed to find the March 21st date somehow yesterday, which is supposedly when the lottery will be run. But it said something like the letters would go out in the beginning of April.

OP here - in case anyone is interested in the answer to my question, I got impatient and just called. The person who answered the phone said they are not giving a specific date for the lottery or the notification letter to parents, only "in April." I asked if the lottery results will be posted online and was told "Yes, some time in April."

Is the lottery next Monday, March 21? I saw that somewhere months ago but can't find it now.
