My kid had 2 IQ tests with very different results. As a result, I don't have any faith in those tests. Nor do I see the point of OP collecting anecdotal information.
What do you think happened? This is not normal, all other things being equal, and could have been due to practitioner error.
IQ tests are unfairly maligned by the general population. It's not the IQ tests themselves, it's the people using it that are at fault.
IQ tests are very delicate, extremely useful tools constructed and updated with care by professionals. However their intended use is in a clinical setting. Too often IQ tests are given by schools and businesses to select for individuals they think they want and as a result the scores are misinterpreted by non-professionals and the wrong people are selected.
