This might not be a big deal for some, but I am not happy about it.

- I don't believe the claim that the extra money will go to schools.
- This, after a taxpayer funded trip to Cuba that resulted in what? I have yet to see a report on why they wet and what they gained from the trip. No transparency.
- If we have more people coming in, wouldn't we be getting more tax dollars as a result?
- Schools are over-crowded. Part of the solution is to reduce the crowds. Don't welcome illegal immigrants or require non US citizens to show an income tax return. This shouldn't be an issue since I had to show one when I applied for a COSA.
- Reduce the need for ESOL teacher funding by making ESOL families pay for English lessons. Pass an English proficiency exam to gain access to public education. My parents both paid for English lessons when they immigrated here back in the 60's. They were poor but they knew this was an investment in their future and it paid off. This is also how it is done in their home country which is also straining with an influx of immigrants - the children need to speak the native language before being allowed to attend the public schools.
- Let's face it, MCPS is going downhill. I feel like we are getting less and being asked for more. I contribute supplies and money to my kid's schools ALL THE TIME - this is something my parents didn't need to do.
- I did not vote for Ike Leggett and most of the current council team. I will be glad when he is gone.
