"Peak" reading on Clear Blue Advanced on day 9
Positive (dark line) Wondfo on day 10, sometimes morning of 11
No more positive OPKs the rest of the cycle (have continued twice a day With opk testing for a few cycles to make sure I didn't have another LH surge - definitely did not)
Temp rise happens around day day 14 or 15 I usually see a small temp rise and then bigger temp rise after that
Temp stays high through end of cycle (typically 25 days).
I am assuming I should go with the OPK test as ovulation and not the temp rise, especially since the timing of my cycles seems to indicate that I ovulate around day 11 (in that my cycles are typically 25 days long). Does anyone else have a slow temp rise relative to ovulation?
Thanks!
so, the OPKs measure the LH surge, which is the chemical that tells your body to ovulate; typically you would ovulate 12-48 hours after the surge. Temp rises in reaction to progesterone, which is generated by the corpus luteum after the egg is released.
You have a couple of possibilities: you're taking a full 48-hours to ovulate after the surge, or perhaps you aren't making enough progesterone at first to really get a rise in temps. Or, of course, some combination thereof. You probably want to have sex every other day starting at day 8 through day 14. If you've been trying for a while, though, you might want to meet with an RE to monitor your cycle to check for luteal phase defects.
