I don't think OP cares. She noticed a difference and was simply asking if anyone else thought it was weird. If the response is "that's not NCS style. They provide things at orientation," why is that not enough? Why must you also insult the fact that she doesn't know NCS culture? I'm definitely not WASP old school money and based on what I read on this forum would have thought it odd as well.
