I would mention that briefly in your cover letter- one of the things that really excites you about the opportunity is your similar philosophies on x, y and z, and your work doing a, b and c in the past mirrors their approach so you would be able to get up to speed and contribute quickly, or something like that. True enthusiasm has a way of showing through. Good luck to you!
