I would mention that briefly in your cover letter- one of the things that really excites you about the opportunity is your similar philosophies on x, y and z, and your work doing a, b and c in the past mirrors their approach so you would be able to get up to speed and contribute quickly, or something like that. True enthusiasm has a way of showing through. Good luck to you!

Can you briefly describe (in a couple of sentences) a couple of projects you've worked on with great results that would be the type of thing the org is looking for?
Also, did she see a cover letter before you met with her? Is what you're composing now more of a thank you?

It's for a short-term contract (and part-time) that could lead to more work.
I spoke to the person in charge of the contract I truly, really am perfect for this role, although I didn't make that case during our brief convo, it was more her giving me information (humbly - but really, I so have the approach and qualifications they are looking for). I kind of want to say "my draft cover letter really nailed everything even before I spoke with you, seriously!" or "I could totally do this- just ask me how if there's something not clear." Obviously that sounds unprofessional, and obviously I will address point by point to the best of my ability...
... but I'd really like to hear if there are specific phrases I could use...
