Shut up - we LOVE Weirs Beach, Laconia, etc. It's either each Friday night or Saturday night in the summers tht they have fireworks. Love it. Funstop, Keller Haus, that water park, etc.

Lakes, not Lake's.

There is a lot to do in the mountain region. Don't let all the typos in this thread stop you from visiting, although it does seem these posters aren't very smart.

I love the HIghland Center at Crawford Notch. Great base for doing hikes.

Diana's Baths! My kids loved them on a hot/humid day last July. Its a cool river with smoothe rocks and waterfalls you can play in. I recommend water shoes for them.

If you end up over by Franconia, check out Pollys Pancake Parlor (but know there can be a wait).

NH native here. Agree with using North Conway as a base. Also agree with the PP who said it takes a long time to get many places, so don't schedule too much in one day!

Stop by Hanover - it's a charming town, there is a science museum nearby and King Arthur Flour.

You might also cross over into Vermont. There's good stuff there too, particularly around queechee and Woodstock which are only about 30-45 mins from Hanover. There's a cool farm near Woodstock.

100% recommend Storyland-- it's a perfect amusement park for that age (might consider staying nearish to it).

Lots of Appalachian Mountain Club hikes/facilities (you can actually stay in one of their lodges near the base of Mt Washington).

Polar caves might be fun too.

Don't underestimate driving times. Once you get off 95, it can take a long time to get anywhere.

We are thinking of driving to New Hampshire for a week vacation in mid-August. ISO ideas of places and things to do there with children (6 and 7).
