We have been at Burke for 2 year and it has been nothing but wonderful! My DC's teachers are super supportive in every aspect of the world! A real gem!

+1 on liking Burke more each time we visited or interacted with the school.
For some reason, Burke always seems to be linked on this forum with Field. But they are very, very different schools, and it is worth checking out Burke.

Of the several schools we interacted with during this season, Burke just consistently rose in our esteem with each interaction increasing our excitement about joining this school community. Saturday interview days, quickly scheduled and organized revisit day, timely response to questions following our acceptance, and strong HOS and teacher presentations on the accepted parent night.

We have two not-quirky, bright boys there, one sporty and one more into writing. We love it. It is an underappreciated gem of a place.

It helps if you appreciate having less crazy pressure on your kid instead of worrying that he or she is "falling behind."

Wish I had known how cramped the space is. Otherwise love it.

We love the school, as does our DD. No complaints, no regrets.

No I disagree. They go over the test results in depth and make corrections so they know exactly where and why they bombed the test

Not a Burke parent, but I do not see that as a problem in school. It is not about do-overs, but about learning the material. If you didn't learn it the fist time, I'd think it would be important to study again and learn it and show that you did so. School should be about learning, not just grades. I'd be upset if my child bombed a test and the school's attitude was "too bad for you we're moving on whether yo get it or not."

We're very happy there. My son is kind of a quirky kid, but he has found his place there. Don't worry, plenty of non-quirky kids too!

The faculty and staff are all very transparent about what they're doing. They are willing to help students when they need. We had a very bad first semester there -- two deaths in the family. All the faculty and staff were there for him.

They work hard to create an inclusive community with students, faculty and staff and with parents.

We've been very happy there.

They are all on the portal. We also got letters in the mail a few days ago.

Has Burke sent admissions acceptances yet?

Honestly, it is a great place and we have no complaints. They were very open about who they were and what to expect and so far have lived up to what they told us.

Any Burke parents here? What do you know now that you wish you had known when trying to decide whether to send your child?

Thanks.
