There is a very big difference between run of the mill cheating (glancing at a friend's answers, plagiarizing, etc.) and scaling a wall and breaking into a teacher's office to steal a test. Seriously.

As a Holton parent, that makes me happy. Kudos to St Albans for expelling the kid. All kids cheat. The good schools deal with it harshly instead of covering it up.

Not sure if the OP meant to bash STA but I think it does the opposite.

+1 but in 1984. Was helping a friend who hadn't studied and we both got an F. Learned my lesson but would have been far worse had it happened now.

Unless, of course, you were already admitted to the university when the cheating occurred. Then you get expelled and quietly readmitted a couple of years later - at least that is how it used to work if your name was Kennedy

WTF...This happens everywhere. Why would you out a kid at STA? For what its worth. I have nothing to do with STA but t the details you provided in the post suggest to me that you just wanted to cause more pain for the family involved.

We recently met with a college rep from a top university who came to my kids school. He told the group that most colleges will look the other way if a kid was suspended or expelled for something like drugs or misuse of social media but that they don't want to touch anyone expelled for academic infractions. So beware parents of high schoolers!

Not affiliated with St. Albans so no "dog in this fight", but I agree with the PPs. These things happen at all schools...yes - even at St. Albans. And the administration doesn't owe anything to the parents to tell them a child was expelled - that's personal.
