We backpacked Yellowstone for a few weeks last summer and loved it. It was a really great experience. So different too depending on what part you're in. I hadn't been since I was a kid.

There are only 59 that are "National Parks" (OP specified parks--and not other units like "National monuments" or "National Battlefields.")

So 12. I thought I had been to a lot more, but I guess a lot of the places I've been are "National Monuments" or "Historic sites", etc.

PP quoted here.
Oh, my favorite of the above list is Bryce Canyon...but my favorite National Monument is White Sands.
Oh my bucket list is Dry Tortugas!

I have visited only 8 National Parks so far.

I loved Glacier so much. The most beautiful place I've ever been.

I have a trip to Yosemite planned for this summer.

Just for fun: how many US national parks have you visited (actual national parks, not other NPS units)? Which was your favorite? Which is next on your list?

For me: about 28
Yellowstone
Glacier or Katmai
