You should break up with her, and give her a chance to find a normal guy who won't be concern-trolling her for having TWO glasses of wine on a weekend night. Christ.

That's not the only symptom of an issue? Binging in general is unhealthy.

She doesn't black out. Is she having any other problems caused by her drinking?

+1. Also, to the "I was functional even though I was regularly wasted!" Posters - yeah, me too, but not being an alcoholic doesn't mean you aren't doing something very unhealthy.

She normally will drink both Friday and Saturday night. Sometimes it's half a bottle, sometimes it the entire bottle.

2 glasses once a week is fine. Four is kind of a lot.

Op here. She can relax without it. She said she just enjoys the taste. It isn't affecting her job and she isn't violent. It just makes her horny ( no objection there). I guess I am overthinking this then.

2-4 glasses on a weekend night doesn't seem like very much to me. When I was 26 I was getting wasted maybe 2-3 nights a week. It was never a problem for me, did well at my job and in law school, most of my friends and boyfriend (now DH) drank just as much. I rarely drink now. Is her drinking causing problems in her life? With her job? Is she getting drunk and violent towards you?

I think it's a problem when a person can't relax or half fun without alcohol.

My girlfriend used to never drink but she has changed the past 6 months. It started out with her drinking wine and I guess enjoying it. The past few months she drinks every weekend, usually 2-4 glasses. Sometimes we are home, other times we are out. She gets tipsy but not blacked out or anything. I asked her and she said she enjoys the taste, and enjoys being able to let loose. She is a student so we do have stressful weeks. We are both 26.
