Working 48 hrs isn't being money hungry. And picking up an extra shift when out team is in need isn't being money hungry. Its a temp thing hence the 6 months.

And pp if you think we go into nursing to be money hungry you need to rethink things.

It's out of the norm for a hospital. She sounds so money hungry.

This is my schedule 4-5 days a week. On the weekends I spend all my time w husband and I prep meal components for the week. I also double up on sleep and working out/yoga to avoid weight gain. I do contracted work so my jobs don't last longer than 12 weeks. If I need a break from this lifestyle I can take it. I am also not on my feet during the over night hrs so its different. Good luck

8am leave work
9-10 gym
10-11 shower and pack meals for the night plus magnesium
11-5 sleep
5-7 time w husband and eat dinner plus some b12, C and D vitamins
7 leave for work
8pm-8am work

Meal schedule at work

11pm- roasted veggies/avocado/chicken plus a good multi vitamin
3am- nuts, dried cherries and 2 tbsp dark chocolate chips plus coffee
7am- green juice or protein shake

Drink a ton of water. Like twice your body weight. I read and have coffee on my commutes.

I often work 12 hour night shifts at the hospital (and regularly worked 30+ as a resident). This is how I maximize daylight hours in order to spend time with my kids and get stuff done. First off, do the four shifts in a row otherwise you will never get a full "day off."
Monday - wake up at regular time, take 2-3 hr nap in afternoon. Go to work at night.
Tuesday - come home, take kids to school, back home to sleep, wake up around 3:30-4 and pick up, feed dinner, etc. then back to work.
Wed/thurs - repeat
Friday - come home in the morning. Stay up until after lunch and take a 2-3 hr nap in the afternoon. Sleep at regular time.
Sat/sun - back to normal daytime schedule.

Nicu nurse

I'm thought mythical would be better so I can have some uninterrupted time with dh and some nights of normal sleep. I can sleep during the day for the most part on those overnight work days.
