Potomac School has had multiple regional semifinalists in the Siemens Science Competition and the Intel Science Talent Search every year for the past several years.

Bullis is literally building a 67,000 sq ft STEM building and has a STEM Signature Program.

Holton-Arms (all girl and starts at 3rd grade) has a very good STEM program, including a design technology class that gets some good press.

Blair magnet? There are about the same number of Intel semi finalists from Blair as there are from TJ. Proportionally, Blair has more kids than TJ, since the whole of TJ is a STEM magnet, whereas the number of kids in Blair is like 100 or so kids.

MD has a lot of great HS with STEM program as well! For whatever reason, they don't get as much press as TJ but I wouldn't discount them.

There are lots of opportunities for enrichment outside of school at that age.

If you are in Virginia, try Nysmith and look into the new Basis in McLean.

But once your DC gets to MS/HS and you are still looking for heavily concentrated STEM program, you might want to look into public (heard of TJ???) Not that private doesn't teach STEM well. Public just has a larger number of kids and some VERY smart STEM kids. The students will be the one driving each other to do better etc etc.

OP here-no need to mock me. I am an educator and a scientist. I believe its important to expose children early to STEM curriculum. It offers opportunity for creativity, problem solving, and ingenuity. The exposure in early childhood can have lasting effects and this has been studied. I would be happy to engage in a respectful conversation about this if others are interested.

I believe I asked a simple question. If you do not know the answer to this question, no need to respond. The snide remarks serve absolutely no purpose.

STEM and STEAM are buzz words. be careful. look at teachers and curriculum first.
