Loved Norwood for my kids. I have heard from many high schools that the Norwood kids who joined them in high school were just plain good kids The high school placement process at Norwood is very fine-tuned and the kids go to great schools, but, more importantly, they go to the right fit schools for them.

I am sure the AD is on here to lurk, just like all other ADs. My son is at bullis, came from Norwood in middle school. It was a big mistake. Wish we would have stayed. Child would have been happier and better socially. The AD is nothing but kind, supportive and respectful.

Norwood's AD needs to vary her writing style.

The AD for Norwood is on this forum daily, writing multiple glowing reports on it. She uses words like "gem" and "warmth" a lot, because her vocabulary is limited.

+1. I've meet many kids at St. Andrew's who attended Norwood, and every one of them was polite and kind, and almost all of them were also interesting and funny. That school seems either to just produce really nice kids, or maybe just the really nice ones self-select to come to St. Andrew's for high school.

Bullis.

Both are great achools. You shoukd attend both accepted parent event and go with your gut feeling, for your cild and family.

Since my my dirwct experience is with Bullis I can offer some perspective. Each of my daughters started Bullis in Third Grade.

I don't think that you can as easily apply out from a K-12. Inertia kicks in and families stay even when it is no longer serving the needs of the students. K-8 gives a natural point for everyone to take stock. It is less of a "stigma" (for want of a better word) to move when everybody is moving.

I'll take the other side. I like Norwood, but we prefer a school that goes all the way to grade 12. We also would think why turn down Bullis now for Norwood, only to reapply to Bullis later (you will need to go somewhere after Norwood, after all). If Bullis turns out to be a bad fit, you can apply out from there as easily as from Norwood. Just my two cents.

I don't have experience of Bullis, but my DD started Norwood in 3rd grade and loved it from day one. She's been there several years and is still very happy that she made the switch.
