Sorry for your loss OP,.

I'm a man, but I love my MIL , she's been more of a mom to me than my own mother.

She sounds awesome. She is what I aspire to be someday, and I hope I have the chance.

I have the opposite situation - I can't do anything right. You would think it would be enough that we have a self sustaining, independent, healthy, happy, hard working, warm and welcoming family that never asks for anything, and has helped out the family (in some pretty amazing ways, I might add)? Nope, not in my MILs eyes. Take, take, take......

I'm so sorry, OP.

My MIL turns a rather fragile 80 this year, and lost both her husband and youngest son in the past year. I PRAY that she survives this devastating time, at least for a couple of years. She is an absolutely amazing woman, who single-handedly saved her growing family from the Vietnam war. I admire her so much.

Thank you all. This week has been hard. I met my husband young so I have known her for 20 years. It is a big hole.

And PP - I am so sorry for the loss of your mother, and I hope you will have your MIL for many, many years to come.

Thank you so much, and I've been thinking of you tonight and sending love.

Sorry for your loss. I also had a sweet mother in law who died too soon of a horrible disease.
