I made like $5k/yr working 20+ hours a week and traveling to competitions. Now that I am married, I wonder how their wives felt about the whole thing. I don't think I would be pleased.
Sadly, the men were probably making more than you.
Hopefully. Because I made only slightly more than gas money to get to practice and competitions.

I think you find your passion and literally work your ass off or approach work/career as a clock puncher.
Money is great, but not everything career wise.

In your spouse's field, is there a strong correlation between hours worked and salary? If you are in a field where prestige/fun greatly increases with hours worked but salary does not, how do you feel about your spouse working long hours?
