Jesus. Why would the car make a left right in front of oncoming traffic? I could see a young driver distracted by passengers/texting/whatever. Or a young driver hesitant to make the left, and getting goaded either by passengers or an inpatient driver behind honking and then panicking and pulling out. Tragic.


Inexperienced drivers, drivers under the influence, distracted/texting drivers...it happens. So sad.

Our teen does that to us all the time while we are driving - goads us to run red lights and turn inappropriately. No matter how many times you tell her she doesn't get it. Her ignorance is frightening . The teen brain is something.
But I thought teens couldn't legally be in the same car if there's a teen driver?


I don't know what the law is, but I'm sure people break the rules all the time.

I've seen people make left turns and have near misses all the time. Immaturity, impatience, who knows. It is frightening. In the case of your teen, I would go for a scared straight tactic, and fast.

I completely agree. We drove River Rd. tonight and were commenting on the crazy drivers. Speeds are out of control on that road. I have been driving for 25 years and I get stressed on that road. I can't even imagine being a young driver. God, heartbreaking. Have a sick feeling just thinking about the pain of these families.

That is so awful
River road is a very dangerous road these days what with running down 95 year old ladies and just endless accidents. It's not meant to be a freeway - some serious traffic calming is needed on that road.

How awful I'm so sorry for those people that list their lives.

which usually means high speed before impact.

It was really bad, a huge scene with tons of rescue vehicles coming. It was sad and scary to see, on a route we take every day. That seems like a really bad crash for a road like River...
