Three adults?

This is seriously impressive. What sorts of things are you eating if you don't mind me asking? Do you look for sales, etc.?

We have similarly aged kids and probably spend double that. We eat healthy but don't go crazy with 100% organic or anything like that.

Family of 4, kids in elementary school. We all eat breakfast at home, we all pack lunches, we eat most dinners at home (dinner out once every other week, so only twice a month and it's usually Thai or pizza so not too expensive). We do eat organic if possible. Average $250/week

We spend about $375/week. That's dinner 4-5 nights a week, lunch packed for both kids and quick breakfast in the morning. We eat out weekends and Friday night. DH and I order out once a weeknight too.

OP here. Should clarify that my kids are 5 and 3 so not huge eaters. We eat out maybe once or twice a week, so this 300 weekly grocery bill includes everything else for everyone.

If you're not counting what you pay for school breakfast or lunch, or what you spend to buy lunch, or you actually go out for dinner 5x/ month, these estimates are skewed. Maybe the $120/week poster is including those, but I don't know how you could realistically buy so little. Do you live outside of the DC area? Shop only at Costco?

I'm ^^ PP. I have a $500 monthly budget that works out to about $125 a week. We eat out only about 2 times a month. The rest of the meals are eaten at home. Pack lunches for the kids and husband. I work from home so I eat a lot of leftovers. I shop at the local grocery stores, going between Giant & Harris Teeter. I buy conventional fruits & veggies (Organic only if it's cheaper), no processed food. We live in Rockville.

I think it's about normal, depends on how old your kids are?

We do $200 groceries, $175 eating out. Kids are 5 and 8

About 120. Two adults, 5 and 3 year olds. Maybe an additional 50 a week for takeout or eating out.
