How are their prices compared to other clinics?

I am a very happy successful patient at GWU. Dr. Frankfurter is my RE although Dr. Dayal did my ER and Dr. Gindoff did my ET. I too was put off by Dr. Gindoff the first time I had him for morning monitoring, but he was just fine once I got used to his more blunt approach. I have worked with two of the nurses and the nurse who primarily handles the IVF procedures is really great. She is very responsive to questions and was very supportive!

Used to be a patient there. Agree about gin doff dismissing adoption. Like Dayak/frankfurter, too, but what REALLY bothered me was my primary RE there did not do 1 of my 4 procedures, and did not make all monitoring decisions. Nurses good.

Dr. G definitely has a different personality. We used him for IUIs and thought he pushed IVF way too much and dismissed adoption. I get that his business is to get women pregnant but still...

looking for a surogate mother

Thanks to everyone who commented on this thread previously! I saw Dr. Frankfurter for the first time today and was completely amazed by his communication skills, genuineness and unbelievably integrative analysis of my case (all of this with no labs yet, just really listening to my history and reviewing BBT charts). I'm a physician myself and truly appreciated the amount of cognitive work he put into my case. Bravo! I actually feel much LESS stressed about the infertility issue after this visit, which is huge.

14:21 poster here. All these posts are making me regret switching. Overall, I think it's a great clinic. I really got the sense that I would never have another doctor (let alone another RE) who thought as much about my case and cared as much about me as Dr Frankfurter. Before I was about to start IVF, Dr F confirmed with me that a breast biopsy from years ago that was buried deep in my medical history file was benign and needed no more follow up. No other RE has ever asked me about it (even though they all had my compete file).

15:58 here. I agree...Dayal and the staff seemed so genuninely thrilled when I got pregnant. I was pleasantly shocked by that. They also told me to come back anytime or call if I had a question even during my pregnancy. I still have one of the nurse's numbers on my speed dial.

My FSH was 16 and Frankfurter accepted me for IVF. I did got to GWU after Shady Grove and Dimattina, b/c both told me I would never conceive. I liked the GWU approach of telling me the likelihood of success and my determining whether that was right for me. He also explained a lot about the numbers, what I could do to improve my chances, and answered a ton of questions; I didn't feel rushed. BTW, I did conceive naturally, and, although I didn't see Frankfurter again, his staff was extremely excited and thrilled.

Frankfurter told me his cut off for IVFs was an FSH of 15, FWIW.

PP here. I should have said Gindoff and Frankfurter were fine when I saw them during monitoring. But Dayal was my main doctor and I dealt with her exclusively outside of monitoring.

I went to GW's fertility center and really liked it. But I never got to IVF...had success with IUI. I loved Dr. Dayal. I thought all the nurses were terrific. The office staff were all really great and helpful. The location was very convenient. I felt like I got a lot of personal attention there during what is obviously a stressful time. I have a hard time believing GW would have a sub-par lab based on the overall reputation of the program and GW being a teaching hospital. But what do I know. I didn't ever really do any research on this.

I do know GW does not turn people away or force them to go down a certain path, which must affect their statistics. Dr. Dayal made a point of telling me that (even though that wasn't an issue for me b/c I was on the younger side and was a fairly straightforward case). And when I would talk to other patients on-line during the morning monitoring, I heard a few stories of people who had been told they had to use donor eggs somewhere else and came to GW as a result or had just been unhappy elsewhere.

They report their success rates to the CDC, so you can get their success rates from the CDC website. I think they have about a 30% success rate for women udner 35, which is not as good as SG. I really liked them (I had Dr Frankfurter and have posted about him in the past). But in the end, we decided to go with SG for our IVF because I thought that a higher volume lab would give us a better chance of success. But I found Dr F to be very thoughtful and it seemed like he really spent a lot of time thinking about our case. I did 3 IUI's with him. I met with all 3 REs during monitoring and liked all of them, although Gindoff has kind of a strange personality. I didn't get the sense that they were too research focused, I actually liked the fact that they do research because I think that means they are more likely to follow the literature. Also, Dr F had insights and info from research that had not yet been published since he is in touch with REs doing research at other universities.

i can't find any success rates. here is quote from their website - "At the George Washington MFA IVF Center, we care for our patients at every age and provide access to treatment without restrictions. We are physicians not statisticians." I am just puzzled why clinic would not participate in disclosing rates. they can do by age etc even of they dont discriminate in cases they take. I have read Dr. Gindoff is rated among top Washington doctors but again I don't find much about him on these forums or internet. I am considering IVF and GWU is covered by my insurance and convenient to me. But obviously I dont want to make wrong choice for convenience.. PLease advise if anyone has experience with GWU doctors - Gindoff, Frankfurter and Dayal. Who is the best option or if I should stay away from them? how about their lab? I had heard from soemone that it is not the best managed lab. They don't believe in IVF success but focus more on researching. i dont want to be their guinnea pig.
