I have heard great things about the whole chain--elementaries, Twain and Edison. I'd pick this area over the western end of the county (Westfield, Chantilly, Oakton, Langley) any day.

It has about 30% FARMS, which is slightly above average for the county now, but not as high as you'd find at some other schools like Lee. Some really nice areas like Clermont and Wilton Woods feed into Edison, as does about 1/2 of Kingstowne. Overall, it's like a more affordable version of Marshall.
What are Academy Classes?

Is this like vocational school. Would a college bound kid do Academy classes?

The administration was awful and teacher turnover was astronomical, students were among the poorest in county, and it was considered a place teachers should steer clear of. In the intervening years the demographic of the area has changed, and I don't know anyone at that school anymore. I can only say that it once deserved its rap, but it's possible there has been a change.
